Welcome to our website for Troop 224 in Allen, Texas.  Meetings are Monday nights at Greenville Oaks Church at 7:30pm. 

Troop 224 is sponsored by the Allen Lion's Club.

We plan camping trips for all scouts once per month, usually on the third  weekend, with the exception of December.
 
The themes of these the monthly activities and the monthly trips are decided by the scouts at six-month intervals lead by the Patrol Leader Council.  The themes range from Scout Skills to Merit Badges with the addition of an eclectic mix of fun activities to add a little spice.  The troop has two overriding activities that they like to attend each year.  In the Spring we host a canoeing camping trip and in the fall we participate in a shotgun camping trip.  After that the opportunities are endless.
 
For the older scouts we plan for additional outdoor activities the form of High Adventure trips.  In the past we gone white water rafting in Colorado, backpacked Big Bend and the Grand Canyon, floated a five day canoeing trip on the Buffalo River, earned our scuba certification, went deep sea fishing out of Corpus Christi and have explored a number of wild caves in the Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas area.
